In an effort to drive more holiday sales in crowded malls, near JCPenney flagships, we created a VR gamified experience, in which mall-goers were sent on a journey to visit Santa and friends at the North Pole. Throughout the experience, we blurred the lines between the virtual and physical world - through haptic technology or matching IRL experience once their Oculus was removed. But wait, there’s more! We also kept spectators engaged by giving them a chance to gamify the ‘choose your adventure’ mechanic and earn the same discounts players could earn. People liked it.
